Santa gave the girls an extra special gift this year...

A new baby brother or sister!

Yes, I am pregnant! About 11 weeks along, due sometime in July.

It has been hard not to say anything, especially with morning sickness being especially difficult this time around, but I couldn't get an appointment with my OB until the 26th, and I really wanted to hear the heartbeat before telling the girls.

So Wednesday night, we sat the girls down and read "Welcoming Babies", a great book about how different cultures celebrate the birth of a baby. Afterwards, we just sat and talked about babies, and then I told the girls that at my doctor's appointment, I found out I had a baby in my tummy. Mara hasn't seemed to understand, but Analese sure does! She is so excited, and keeps asking me if its summer yet :) She has already told me that the baby is a girl, and keeps referring to it as such. She asks me a couple of times a day...is the baby still in your tummy? So cute, and makes it so exciting to be able to share this with her.

Last night as we were getting ready to leave my families' Christmas gathering, Analese suddenly remembered and told everyone how "Mommy has a little tiny little baby growing in my tummy". :)

Ok, more details to come, but I had to share the news!

Congrats Julie, great story about how you told the girls. That's great that Analese is so excited, but it will be a loooong winter and spring for her! I don't think Michael had any idea that David was coming, I think some days he still wonders what happened! Hope the morning sickness goes away soon and that it's smooth sailing from here on!

Finally we can all talk about the BABY!!! We've all been patiently waiting. It was so funny yesterday at Mom's, nobody knew who all knew the news, and everyone was trying to keep the secret from Mom...we didn't know that you told her already. Towards the end of the night Mom whispered to me..."Did you hear about Julie?" And I yelled..."Hey, everyone...she knows!!" We all just laughed. We each thought we had this secret to keep. Too funny!

Soooo excited about the baby! Analese is such a cutie pie. How did the other family react?

Yay! Another cousin!
Everyone was trying to keep it a secret at Christmas..but I guess we don't have to anymore!

Peace is every step said...

Congrats!!!! I pretty much figured it out a while ago when you "threw up on Analese's foot". :) You didn't fool me with your mold excuse!!!! :)
Anyway, happy news! Hope the sickness subsides soon. Maybe it's a boy? Aidan made me sick as a dog for 6 months.

Whew! The secret is finally out. It's hard to keep it quiet, and then I find out everyone already guessed. Yes, it was funny how they didn't know I knew. Analese will be so excited this summer. You know she'll ask all kinds of questions. I'm so happy for you. Be well.
